Goddess Affirmation Card Deck
Goddess Affirmation Card Deck
Deck of affirmation cards inspired by West African goddesses
As someone interested in mythology and history, I noticed that knowledge of African mythology and culture is limited beyond Egyptian mythology and saw an opportunity to expose people to the world of West African lore and myths in an interactive way.
Fronts of cards with affirmations and illustrations of goddesses. Each affirmation is based on what each goddess represents.
For example, Oya represents strength and bravery and Aje represents wealth and abundance
The designs on the backs of the cards are inspired by Ghanaian Adinkra symbols. Each symbol has a specific meaning and corresponds to the affirmation on the other side.
This card deck is intended to be used with a paired guidebook, which will allow users to learn more about each of the goddesses and affirmations on each card. This guidebook includes steps for how to use each card and information on the goddesses illustrated within the deck.
